Privacy notice

This notice explains how ASIA TESA looks after the personal data of customers who order from us, use our customer portal or track an order online. It is written for the Personal Data Protection Act of Singapore (PDPA). Our team follows the same rules in the workshop.

Who we are

ASIA TESA, 7030 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 5, Northstar@AMK #09-27, Singapore 569880. We build custom fishing rods and look after them after delivery. "We" and "us" in this notice mean this company.

What we collect

  • Your name, and your phone number or e-mail address (usually both).
  • The address where you want an order delivered.
  • Your orders and quotations, what you chose for each rod, and your payments, invoices, receipts and credit notes.
  • Notes you give us about a build.
  • Records of your use of the customer portal: when you signed in and what you asked us to send you.
  • Whether you agreed to receive promotions and news, and when you last changed that choice.

We do not ask for your national ID number, and we do not store card numbers: for a payment the system only records the amount, the date, how you paid and a reference.

Why we use it

  • To prepare quotations, build your rod, tell you how it is progressing and when it is ready.
  • To deliver or hand over your order, and to invoice you and keep your payment records.
  • To contact you about your order, and for after-sales service and repairs.
  • To send you promotions and news about new builds, events and offers, only if you agreed. You can change your mind at any time.

Who can see it

Only the people in our team who need it to handle your order can see your details. We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it with other companies, except where the law requires us to. Our system is hosted in Singapore, and an e-mail delivery service sends our messages to you; these service providers handle your data only to run the service for us.

How long we keep it

  • We keep records of orders, payments and invoices for at least 7 years, as the law requires.
  • Notifications in your portal are kept for 2 years.
  • Portal sign-in sessions and password reset links are deleted 30 days after they expire.
  • If you ask us to delete your personal data, we remove your name and contact details from your customer record and your orders, delete your portal account, and delete the quotations and order confirmations we made for you. We keep the order and payment records under your customer number only, for the period above.
  • The invoices, receipts and credit notes we have already issued to you are legal records that we must keep for at least 7 years. They cannot be changed, so they still show your name and address as they were printed.
  • Our encrypted backups are kept for up to 12 months and then deleted. Data you asked us to delete stays in the older backups until they expire; it is never put back into the live system: if a backup ever has to be restored, we delete your data again straight away.

Your choices

  • You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, and to correct it.
  • You can withdraw your consent to promotions and news at any time: in your portal account, or by telling us. We stop at once.
  • You can ask us to delete your personal data. We do this by anonymising your record, which cannot be undone, once your orders are completed and paid.
  • We reply to your request as soon as we can, and within 30 days.
